It is printed on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl papers, structured to refract the highest values in colour and detail. It’s high-quality ink absorbing layer enables exceptional image quality with enormously detailed sharpness, and a very broad colour range, providing archival permanency of your artwork for over 100 years.

CAPTURE DETAILS

On tripod (Gorilla Pod), Sony A6000, 20mm, F11, 4 sec, ISO 100, no filter, processed in Lightroom.

This little patch of the Route Burn (“burn” means river) seemed like nature was operating in absolute silence. There was near no sound from this trickle of water across these rocks. I was amazed. I could see the water flow would make for a beautiful long exposure, so in I went. Knee deep in the stream, kneeling in front of a larger boulder, with just a Sony A6000 and a small Gorilla pod. Look at that for a result!

PHOTO TIP

Travelling light doesn’t necessarily mean you have to ditch equipment that you may need.  Swap big stuff for little stuff. I’ve often taken most of my equipment out of many a backpack to make my hikes less taxing physically. This also leaves room for more safety type gear that have other purposes, light head torches instead of flashlights. Dry gloves that can keep spare batteries warm. I always teach my photography workshop students little hacks that can save them a whole lot of hassle when out in the wilderness. Think of me as the Bear Grylls of photography, without having to eat spiders! 😩
