ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Still Waiting, Paradise, Otago – Steve Rutherford Landscape Photography Art Gallery

This is an unframed, limited edition collection, landscape photography print of only 25 units. It is printed on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl papers, structured to refract the highest values in colour and detail. It’s high-quality ink absorbing layer enables exceptional image quality with enormously detailed sharpness, and a very broad colour range, providing archival permanency of your artwork for over 100 years.

CAPTURE DETAILS

On tripod, Sony A6000, 19mm, F11, 1/10th sec, ISO 100, no filter, processed in Lightroom.

Every landscape photographer wants the old abandoned truck shot in their portfolio. Ive got tonnes of them, but what got me with this is the last light in the background. The faded paint on the truck helped it pop out of the image against the golden glow of the grass field and hills behind. There is no filter on this. If you know the Sony A6000′ 16mm lens, you cant put a filter on it anyway. I was ecstatic with this image. I even had a herd of horses watching me in the paddock behind me.

PHOTO TIP

Sometimes everything just comes together. The composition, the subject, the lighting and your gear. When you encounter utopia like this, don’t just assume you’ll get a great shot. You still have to work it. With a scene like this, ensure you have a long depth of field, and your focus is spot on. You want the sharpest image possible. You may not get this chance again.
