I’d never heard of this place, but soon became familiar with it, too familiar haha. The Yamhill is simply amazing. Grunge, eclectic and just down right dirty, is exactly how I saw it. It was perfect. It was one of those places you walk past and even though the front door is wide open, like an invitation to come in, you say..”I wonder what the hell is in there”. Worthy of a photograph every day of the week.

PHOTO TIP

If you know of any out of the way places in your town, go and photograph them. Find the nastiest grunge place you can. It could be an old abandoned warehouse or building, or it just could be a creepy park at night.  It’s these kinds of places that make up cities, as much as the glitz and glamour and all the “corporateness”(I know that’s not a word!), it’s the hidden gems like this that reveal the true identity of a place, and they should be photographed as they are. They should be celebrated and shown off, often.
