This was a cold, windy day, as I walked though the city in Portland. For such a large city it seemed near deserted and I realised that snowfall was predicted that night. I guess everyone was headed indoors, because they knew what to expect. I as a tourist had no idea and continued to endure the wind and photograph the city.

When you combine a street image with a story, you find the viewer becomes a lot more interested. Rather than just interpreting it themselves., give them something to imagine about the image. The weather, the mood, a feeling. Give them a reason to want to explore the image and know more about what it was that you did to capture the photograph.
